Northwest Missouri State University will celebrate the achievements of its most recent graduating students during two winter commencement ceremonies on Friday, Dec. 13.

Northwest will host ceremonies at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in Bearcat Arena at the Lamkin Activity Center on the University campus. To accommodate guests who cannot attend, Northwest also offers a live online stream of each ceremony at bw50.westridgeparkapartments.com/live.
About 1,800 students are expected to complete degrees at the University this fall, with more than 500 earning bachelor’s degrees and nearly 1,300 receiving master’s or education specialist degrees.
“Commencement ceremonies at Northwest are such a joyous occasion to celebrate the academic successes of our students and the new journeys they are about to begin,” Northwest President Dr. Lance Tatum said. “Our University community looks forward to hosting our graduates’ loved ones as we all reflect on the hard work and dedication that leads us to this point in our students’ lives.”
Graduates participating in commencement ceremonies may pick up caps and gowns in the Student Recreation Center between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, through Wednesday, Dec. 11, or between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12. Caps and gowns also will be available at the Student Recreation Center one hour prior to each ceremony.
Additionally, Northwest will host its Grad Fest for all graduating students from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, in the Student Recreation Center.
